The valve in head V-8 as only the valve in head leader can build it! The new "Turbo-Fire" V-8 had 162 horsepower and a 8 to 1 compression ratio! It was available with new standard transmission, optional Power glide or Overdrive.

1955 saw two new six cylinder engines.  The New Blue Flame 136 six was equipped with a powerglide transmission. The new Blue Flame Six 123 was equipped with standard transmission or a standard transmission with overdrive.
