1955 Chevrolet Station Wagon Advertisement A four door six passenger station wagon model in the Bel Air series was called the Beauville. In the Beauville the second seat folded flush with the floor. There was a two door and a four door wagon in the 210 series. The two door was called the Handyman. The four door was called the Townsman. All of these Chevy wagon's were colorful with all vinyl interiors. Finally a two door Handyman was also available in the One-Fifty series.
Vintage 1955 Chevrolet Nomad Image The two door Nomad was modeled after a concept car seen on the auto show circuit only two years before and cost $309.00 more than a four door Bel Air station wagon. It was distinguished by lots of glass, convertible style windows and a very slim window post at the rear around the tailgate. Unique to the Nomad, the rear wheel openings were cut out to the same size as the front instead of being partially skirted like all the other 1955 Chevy wagons. Only 8386 1955 Nomad wagons were made. However, they are among the most cherished of the more than 1.7 million 1955 Chevy's made.
